Our store/ community space has been a part of the Temescal community since 2003.

The store was originally the brainchild of Rue Kreber-Mapp and William Kreber-Mapp who owned the store during its first year. The store was then owned and run by their good friend, Sally Amsbury, ran the store for 6 more years. In 2010, long time volunteer Chris Specker became owner, with then manager, William Kreber - Mapp leaving in 2023.

Under Chris’s leadership, the store has become more community-oriented and more event-driven!

We now have a board game library with over 1,000 games, we will teach you how to play them on game night or you can become a member of our store to rent games. We teach chess, Magic: the Gathering, Pokémon, Scrabble, Dungeons' and Dragons, and board games and card games of all types to all ages of humans.

Here is a sweet local article about the store from one of our local papers Oaklandside

Here is a very cool review of our store by some local favorites ShelfSide

We also have many beloved volunteers and interns who run our events and keep our store afloat with their generosity and their many talents. We are always looking to grow our community, ask us how you can share your ideas, volunteer (we always need people to run games, contribute creatively, and get the word out), donate games to our library or run events!
